Process

Bought a staple gun and stretched the canvas around the frame and stapled it together they hang perfectly on the wall as well.  I plan on attaching my fiber experiments as well as more onto them.

  1. great job making those frames. you made them pretty quickly that day in class. I think your fiber pieces also work well on their own without the support of the support of the frame. maybe instead of putting all of the circles on the canvas top, you can make holes on the actual canvas fabric and put some from behind and gave them come out through the back slightly, while some sit on top of the canvas, alternating from under to on top of the canvas. not sure if i'm describing it in a way that you can visualize it, but just an idea! good job!

  3. Hi Holly, I think that your frames look good, and is great that you learned how to make them. I also agree that your fiber pieces work better without being framed, let them expand in a free-unlimited form. As Nicole pointed out you can play around with the canvas on the frame to create other interesting shapes, and maybe even build a different design of frame. Keep experimenting!
