Phase One

I was greatly inspired by fiber sculptures, I stumbled upon several artists but my favorite one was Desire Moheb Zandi and her series of Fiber Sculptures Titled "Chaos" :

I want to create my own and through various experimentation I will create my own fiber sculpture and I want it to have a significant meaning through the use of my material.

I want to address the fact that every 7 seconds a women dies to illegal and unsafe abortion due to it not being legal or accessible. I want the overall look of the work to be loud and red and also mainly made up of wire hangers for obvious reasons.

1. With the wire hangers I want to manipulate them by bending, wrapping, overall experiment with them to understand how to incorporate them in my larger fiber sculpture,

2. With the string/yarn I want to weave, wrap, really find ways I can use string within the piece, I want to learn how to make knots, create a netting, and overall understand how I can use it visually.

3. I want to use fabric so I can practice stitching, as well as include embroidery within the work.
Stitching also will help with overrall craftsmanship aswell.
